WELCOME TO OUR COMMUNITY
Rivercrest Free Methodist Church is a faith-centered community dedicated to living out the gospel in our cultural contexts, fostering unity while honoring the distinct gifts of every community we serve.
OUR THEOLOGICAL FOUNDATION

The narrative of Scripture is often mistaken for a localized tribal history, but from the first pages of Genesis to the closing visions of Revelation, the scope has always been global. Today, the "God of the Nations" is not a title of distant sovereignty, but a direct fulfillment of an ancient legal and spiritual contract.
The world is in flux. As immigrant and refugee communities navigate a wilderness of unprecedented challenges and closed doors, the Spirit of God is moving with a distinct urgency. Now, more than ever, the Church cannot remain seated. The Church must arise!
Guided by the Great Commission and a commitment to the "least of these," Rivercrest Free Methodist Church, in steadfast partnership with the FMC Central Region Conference and the FMC USA Pastoral Formation Center of Studies, is stepping into the gap. We are not merely providing aid; we are raising up a harvest from within.
We are dedicated to the equipping of leaders from our Swahili-speaking communities—both here in our local neighborhoods and across the globe. We believe that the most effective, culturally resonant, and biblically sound way to minister to the brokenhearted and the seeker is through the hands and voices of their own brothers and sisters.
This vision guides our Swahili-speaking Center of Studies—equipping leaders to serve not just their local communities, but to plant churches and participate in God's global redemptive work across nations.

OUR IDENTITY
Five values that shape our identity and guide our mission

Pursuing spiritual wholeness and sanctification in all aspects of our lives
Embracing Diaspora Communities with Faithful Obedience

We are wholeheartedly committed to transnational missions and communities multiplication efforts—not as something we want to "show off," but in faithful obedience as disciples of the Missional Church of Christ on earth.
The Risk: Alienating potential members and hindering diaspora community growth.
The Opportunity: Redesigning welcoming structures centered on the immigrant experience.
Multilingual Ministry
Services, materials, and communication in multiple languages
Cultural Respect
Honoring diverse traditions while maintaining theological integrity
Accessible Pathways
Simplified processes for participation, leadership, and involvement
Cross-Cultural Training
Equipping leadership to serve diverse communities effectively
Swahili-speaking Community Engagement, Wichita, Kansas
Building meaningful connections with the local Swahili-speaking community through outreach and partnership
Strategic investment in cross-cultural training for existing leadership and the creation of accessible, simplified engagement processes is not merely helpful, but a foundational requirement for effective diaspora mission. This is not about "showing off" our diversity. This is about faithful obedience to Christ's call to welcome the stranger, cross cultural boundaries, and include the marginalized.
Whether you are part of an immigrant community seeking a spiritual home, a leader wanting to serve across cultures, or a church member ready to embrace our missional calling—we invite you to be part of this transformative work.
